Adidas Cross Country Shoes

If you are the parent of a teenager who is involved in track and field, you know how often they need new shoes.  It is important for everyone who runs cross country to have the appropriate footwear, but it is especially important for growing youths.  Not only do they quickly outgrow their shoes, but their feet are also changing shape and often, even a shoe that should fit doesn’t feel right.

When it comes time to shopping for shoes, your teenager is probably going to want the latest, flashiest shoes that are autographed by his favorite rapper.  That is okay if the shoes are properly made, but if you want to ensure that your teenager is getting properly fitting running shoes, then you need to get them cross country running shoes, such as the ones in the Adidas cross country shoes line.

Don’t bother going to the department stores for running shoes (unless they have a good sportswear department with well-trained staff).  You’re best off heading straight to a store that sells nothing but sportswear and sports footwear.  You will find many Adidas cross country shoes in these specialty stores, and the specially trained staff will be able to help your teenager get exactly the right shoe.

There are certain things that you need to look for in running shoes.  They need to be breathable and there should be a good grip on the sole.  They should also be lightweight and offer good support, especially around the ankles.  Bring your teenager along with you when you shop.  There’s no sense in bringing home the wrong thing or something that doesn’t fit right.  The staff at the sports stores will know how to properly measure your teen’s foot and find them the Adidas cross country shoes that suit them best.

When your teen is trying on running shoes, make sure that they don’t just stand there.  Have them walk around the store, jump up and down and run in place to make sure they fit well, are comfortable and will provide maximum support when your teenager is running cross country.  There are many types of Adidas cross country shoes for your teenager to try, so they are sure to find exactly what they are looking for.

When it comes to checking for size, your teen will know best how the shoes fit and feel, and of course, you will have the advice of the salesperson as well.  But there is also a way that you can check yourself, just in case your teen really wants the shoes and will even buy ones that don’t fit just to get the latest “in” thing in running shoes.  You will probably remember your mother doing this when you were a kid buying shoes…press your finger against the toe of the shoe.  You should be able to feel a space about a finger-width size between your teen’s big toe and the end of the shoe.

Now, it’s time to go shoe shopping.  Gather up your teen(s) and head to the sportswear store for some new Adidas cross country shoes.  You want to protect your kids, and giving them the proper footwear is a good step in the right direction.
